Skilled Workers Opportunities

The provincial and federal governments offer programs for skilled workers who want to come to British Columbia.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program speeds the immigration process for qualified skilled workers and experienced business people who wish to settle here.

The federal government's Skilled Worker Program chooses permanent residents based on education, work experience, knowledge of English and/or French and other criteria that can help new immigrants settle into Canada's economy.

Every year, employers in British Columbia hire temporary foreign workers to help meet labour and skill shortages. The federal government's Temporary Foreign Worker Program allows foreign nationals to work for British Columbia employers for a defined period up to a maximum of two years.

Canadian Experience Class allows some temporary foreign workers and foreign students who have graduated in Canada to become permanent residents.
