Applications to Schools in BC

  1. Read about institutions and programs that interest you. See general information about British Columbia institutions or visit the website for the institution you are interested in. Many of these sites have specific information for international students.
  2. Apply directly to the institutions you want to attend.
  3. If the program is longer than six months in duration, you must apply for a study permit as soon as you have been accepted.
  4. If you are a full-time student and would like to work while in British Columbia, speak directly to the designated institutional representative at your institution's international student office about work opportunities, how to apply for a work permit and how to obtain a Social Insurance Number.
  5. Make your university, college or institute choice as early as possible. It can take several months to process a student visa.

Most public institutions have an international student office to help you find information and resources to pursue studies in British Columbia.
