DEGREE AND TRAINING PROGRAMS
Degree Programs: Seventeen private and out-of-province public institutions are authorized to offer degree programs in British Columbia. They must have consent from the Minister of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development before they may provide, advertise or grant degrees in British Columbia, or use the word "university" for educational purposes.

Career training programs: There are 400 private career training institutions in British Columbia registered with the Private Career Training Institutions Agency. Approximately 200 are accredited, showing that they meet institutional and educational standards of quality.
