Working while Studying
Working in British Columbia while you study will give you the opportunity to earn extra money, improve language skills, and meet new people. Depending on your institution and length of program, you may be eligible to work while you study.
Students who want to work while studying may need to apply for a work permit, have a Social Insurance Number and pay income tax. Students working without a permit may be asked to leave Canada. More information is can be found on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website.
Students who complete studies at an eligible British Columbia institution may qualify for a graduate work permit. These programs can help students begin their career.
